Carleton-sur-Mer is the fifth largest town of the Gaspésie's south shore, in southeastern Quebec, Canada, located on Route 132, along the Baie des Chaleurs.
The town's territory includes the communities of Biron, Caps-de-Maria, Carleton, Robitaille, and Saint-Omer.


The town is located on the southern shore of the Saint Lawrence River, at the mouth of Carleton Bay. The bay opens to Baie des Chaleurs which in turn opens to Gulf of St. Lawrence and Atlantic Ocean.
Carleton-sur-Mer is located about north east from New Brunswick's capital city Fredericton and south west from Quebec City, Quebec's provincial capital city (about ). It also lies approximately south east from Edmundston, New Brunswick; or northwest by road via Route 132; or southwest by road via Route 11/115 (Autoroute du Souvenir).
