Mississippi Mills is a town in eastern Ontario, Canada, in Lanark County on the Mississippi River. It is made up of the former Townships of Ramsay and Pakenham, as well as the Town of Almonte. It is partly located within Canada's National Capital Region.


The town was formed on January 1, 2001, through the amalgamation of the former Townships of Ramsay and Pakenham. The name "Mississippi Mills" was chosen to reflect its location along the Mississippi River. At that time it also included Almonte; however, in 2004 a vote by residents resulted in Almonte's secession from Mississippi Mills and its incorporation as a separate municipality once again.
