About Kitchener

Including Cambridge, the three cities are known as "the tri-cities". Kitchener and Waterloo are located in Southwestern Ontario. Kitchener is between the Grand River and Lake Huron (to its south) and bounded by Hamilton to the west, while Waterloo is located between Lake Erie (to its north) and Wellington County. The city centre of each city is on one of these waterways: Kitchener at King Street near Weber Street; Waterloo at University Avenue near Belmont Avenue. Both cities have extensive parkland, with trails connecting a number of nature conservation areas to downtown cores that also serve as urban green space for residents.
