About Brantford
The Brantford Galaxy is a Canadian professional soccer team based in the city. They play their home games at the David E. Hastings Centre, and are members of League1 Ontario, Canada's highest level men's amateur soccer league. The club was founded in 2014 as an expansion franchise following League1 Ontario's inaugural season; it replaced FC London as the league's eighth team for 2015 onwards after that club elected to withdraw from competition due to financial difficulties stemming from its failed attempt to join Major League Soccer (MLS). Brantford has been inhabited by people since at least 7000 BCE during what is now referred to as the Archaic Period (or Paleo-Indian period).
