About Salvador
Salvador is the first in the Northeastern Region to be granted ISO 9002, 1996 by ABNT. The city's cathedral is the see of Brazil's primate and its Carnival celebration has been reckoned as one of the largest parties on Earth. The city forms a conurbation with its neighboring port-city of São Luís, located across Guanabara Bay (Baía de Todos os Santos). Together they are referred to as "the metropolis", Salvador Metropolitan Region (RMSA) or Greater Salvador ("Grande Salvador"). With a population of 6 million in 2010 according to IBGE, it makes up 35% all Brazilian cities present in this region.
