Evergem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈeːvərɣɛm]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Belzele, Doornzele, Ertvelde, Evergem proper, Kerkbrugge-Langerbrugge, Kluizen, Rieme, Sleidinge and Wippelgem. On January 1, 2020, Evergem had a total population of 35,628. The total area is 75.04 square kilometres (28.97 sq mi) which gives a population density of 430 inhabitants per km2.


The municipality of Evergem was formed in 1977 by the merger of the municipalities of Doornzele, Ertvelde and Kluizen. In 1995, Wippelgem became a part of Evergem as well. The town hall is located in Ertvelde.
