About Innsbruck

Innsbruck is an internationally renowned winter sports centre, commonly referred to as the "Winter Capital" of Austria. It has hosted the Winter Olympic Games twice, in 1964 and 1976, and was the first city to host both this event and the Summer Olympics (in 1964). It also hosted three consecutive FIBT World Championships from 1977–79. The city hosts a yearly ice hockey tournament known as the Innsbruck Cup with teams from Austria playing against each other in a series of games throughout one weekend starting on Friday night until Sunday afternoon; it usually takes place at Eissportzentrum West which is located next to Innsbruck Airport just outside of town. There are also several smaller ice rinks for public use within walking distance or via bus or tramway such as Eishalle Tivoli that offers curling too during winter months but not during summer months due to its location inside Amadeus Forum amusement park grounds where roller coasters operate year round along with many other rides including bumper cars etc..
