Opened in 2017, the Sydney Metro City & Southwest is the newest addition to Sydney's public transport network. The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is a public research university located in the suburb of Kensington in Sydney, Australia. Established as an agricultural college by act of New South Wales Parliament on 8 August 1949, it was constituted as one of two new Australian universities to be built under the Whitlam government plan for education expansion in Australia. The university was renamed "the University of New South Wales" effective from 1 January 2005 and has since grown to become a dual-sector tertiary institution offering both vocational and higher education courses with an additional campus based at Randwick which specialises exclusively on health science studies.
